Having clinched the Southwest Division and essentially the second seed in the Western Conference, the Spurs have seemingly gone into rest mode to prepare for the post-season. During their last showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Coach Gregg Popovich started a lineup that included reserves Patty Mills, Kyle Anderson, Boris Diaw and Boban Marjanovic, who hung with OKC for a good half. Boasting a roster that still includes the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder remain a playoff threat, albeit a tier below the Warriors and Spurs. As they gear up for the playoffs, it’s left to be seen if the Spurs can make NBA history and go undefeated at home during the regular season. With Coach Pop already resting his core, it appears the team has loftier goals in mind.
