When: Fri., Dec. 15, 8 p.m. 2017
Combining elements of space rock, psych, prog, punk, experimental rock and krautrock, Austin’s ST 37 were birthed in an era of Austin music that undoubtedly contributed to their “weird” scene (an identity the city continues to desperately clutch). The band formed in ’87 and has continued to release music all the way up to 2014’s I’m Not Good. While their sound is undoubtedly a medley of textures, tones and rhythms that in theory shouldn’t go together, the psychedelic component audible throughout their catalog manages to give their music some cohesiveness that has contributed to their cult following. Opening the night will be folk country heartthrob Garett T. Capps accompanied by NASA Country.
