Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Fiesta Gartenfest

Preserving German song, music, and language since 1867, the Beethoven Maennerchor has earned its reputation as “the oldest active singing society in Texas.” Home to the men’s choir along with the Damenchor, and Kinderchor (ages 4-15), Beethoven Halle und Garten puts a German spin on Fiesta with Gartenfest, a three-day shindig serving up “a little polka, a little beer, a little bratwurst, and lots of cheer.” As if German food and beer, live music by the Beethoven’s 50-piece Concert Band, and good old-fashioned gemuetlichkeit (warm cordiality) isn’t enough of a draw, Gartenfest promises brushes with Fiesta Royalty: Wednesday’s festivities included a visit from Rey Feo LXV Larry Benson and King Antonio XCI Steve Dutton makes an appearance on Thursday. $3-$5, 5pm-midnight Thu-Fri, Beethoven Halle und Garten, (210) 422 Pereida, (210) 222-1521, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
