As reported in The New York Times in the review “Flying, With Greatest of Ease, One Last Time in Neverland,” spritely Gold Medalist Cathy Rigby announced her retirement from the high-flying antics of Peter Pan back in 2005. Six years later a national tour of the kid-centric Cathy Rigby Is Peter Pan proved the former champion gymnast hasn’t exactly grown out of playing “the boy who wouldn’t grow up” — a role she’s been mastering since 1974. Introduced to the stage by J.M. Barrie in 1904 and musicalized with such lovable tunes as “I Won’t Grow Up,” “I’m Flying,” and “I’ve Gotta Crow” in 1954, Peter Pan orbits around the adventures of Wendy, John, and Michael Darling — siblings who follow a flying boy and his faithful fairy Tinker Bell to the magical home of the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily and her Indian tribe, and Captain Hook and his tango of pirates. $25-$95; 8pm Tue, Dec 4; The Majestic Theatre, 224 E Houston, (210) 226-3333, majesticempire.com.
