Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Shatner's World: We Just Live In It

shatner's world

A long and colorful career comes to life onstage in “Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It,” the one-man show Canadian actor, musician, author, and director William Shatner debuted on Broadway last February. Armed with little more than a rolling chair (which he uses as both vehicle and dance partner), Shatner reflects on working as a Shakespearean actor (including serving as Christopher Plummer’s understudy in Henry V), hitchhiking across the United States, landing the pivotal role of Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, and even living in his truck’s camper bed during a bleak period (Shat happens). Employing a mix of theater, video clips, archival photos, and live music (the show closes with a quirky rendition of Brad Paisley’s song “Real”), the 81-year-old icon illustrates how the word “yes” has factored into his 60-plus years in show business. $32-$113; 7:30pm Wed, Jan 9; The Majestic Theatre, 224 E Houston, (210) 226-3333, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
