Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Steve Treviño

Since scoring a fateful gig as a 19-year-old opening for Carlos Mencia in Corpus Christi, Steve Treviño has emerged as one of the Third Coast’s most successful comedic exports. Now based in Los Angeles, the Portland native has racked up some impressive credits — including joining Mencia, Pablo Francisco, and the late Freddy Soto on The Three Amigos Comedy Tour, performing at The Doghouse Comedy Jam in San Francisco, appearing on The Late Late Show with Greg Ferguson, entertaining the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and writing for the Comedy Central series Mind of Mencia. Treviño brings his signature blend of uncensored observational blue-collar comedy to Sam’s in support of his new hour-long Showtime special Grandpa Joe’s Son. Jesus Trejo, who plays “Javier” on the TBS comedy series Sullivan & Son, joins for support. $17-$22; 8pm-midnight Wed, Nov 14; Sam's Burger Joint, 330 E Grayson, (210) 223-2830, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
