Everything about Chuck Kerr’s departure from his Art Director position at the Current sucks, except for three things: he got a dynamite job in Seattle, his replacement, Eli Miller, is just as good (but much better-looking), and now, with our fingers no longer tied to conflict of interest, we can finally say it: Chuck is a terrific drummer, singer, composer, and a key force in the SA music scene. After his and Chris Maddin’s brilliant renditions of classic albums by Bowie, Wilco, Radiohead and others, they now tackle the Beatles’ Abbey Road with a bunch of top-notch local friends (yes, “Because” and “Sun King” harmonies included). Kerr’s own Bad Breaks at 10, Bobby Jealousy (Austin) follows, and Abbey Road at midnight sharp. Free; 10pm-midnight Fri, Dec 21; 502 Bar, 502 Embassy Oaks, (210) 257-8125, 502bar.com.
