Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Twiztid

In the deranged world of horrorcore hip-hop duo Twiztid, “pop music is a bloated, rotting corpse and The Wicked Shit is the undead pulse hidden deep within.” A menacing-looking niche outfit comprised of perpetually Halloween-ready Madrox and Monoxide (born Jamie Spaniolo and Paul Methric), Twiztid emerged from Detroit’s underground rap scene in the late-’90s with a style seemingly custom-built for Psychopathic Records (aka “The Hatchet”), a label the likeminded Detroit-based duo Insane Clown Posse founded with Alex Abbiss. Since joining Psycopathic’s “orgy of violence, volume, and facepaint,” Twiztid has released nine studio albums, with 2009’s W.I.C.K.E.D. (Wish I Could Kill Every Day) charting the highest (it clawed its way to No. 11 on the Billboard 200) and this year's Abominationz being the latest. Also on the bill: punk-rap outfit (h?d) p.e (aka (hed) Planet Earth), Lil Wyte (a member of the rap collective Hypnotize Minds), and underground hip-hop duo Potluck. $18-$20; 7pm Tue, Nov 13; The Korova, 107 E Martin, (210) 707-4521, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
