Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Zombie Apocalypse Christmas

zombie christmas

The Rose reanimates for the holiday season with Zombie Apocalypse Christmas, an original new play based loosely on the doomsday hoopla spiraling from the Mayan calendar. Set just after zombies ravage the Earth on December 21, 2012 which marks the completion of the 13th b’ak’tun on the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar), the farce follows Santa and Rudolph as they prepare for another Christmas Eve of delivering toys. When the duo arrives on the scene to witness the gruesome effects of a full-blown apocalypse, they assemble a “zombie survival squad” by drawing from their top five Facebook friends. Written by Chris Manley and starring the Rose Theatre Troupe, the PG-rated spoof invades the stage weekend nights after the slightly more reverent A Country Christmas, a yuletide musical surrounding a death in the family. $8; 9pm Sat, Dec 15; The Rose Theatre, 11838 Wurzbach, (210) 360-0004, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
