The Cookhouse and Bakery Lorraine Team Up to Help Louisiana Flood Victims

Louisiana native and Cookhouse owner Pieter Sypesteyn will join Bakery Lorraine owner Jeremy Mandrell for a relief trip to the Baton Rouge area with Mercy Chefs, a faith-based, non-profit disaster relief organization.

The two chefs will head to Louisiana Thursday morning. Monetary donations for flood relief are being taken at both Bakery Lorraine locations and The Cookhouse to help aid the victims of what's being called historic flooding through local charities and assistance programs.

As of Wednesday morning, Gov. John Bel Edwards described the event to news stations as "unprecedented," while adding that 40,000 homes have been affected by the flooding.
