The Dead Milkmen

When: Sat., March 3, 8 p.m. 2018

If you listen to punk rock, and have been living here long enough to know how special the original Taco Land really was, you know how important and awesome and exciting this show is. If you’re new to Taco Land’s history though, The Dead Milkmen is a band from the ’80s who have made lasting contributions to the punk rock and indie rock world. They even wrote a song about the amazing San Antonio local punk rock venue, Taco Land (not the new one – I still haven’t gone to it because I still have feelings about gentrification), owned by the late Ram Ayala who was murdered outside of the bar in July of 2005. Anyway, they’re coming back to San Antonio and everyone should go because, punk rock and San Antonio go hand in hand. Also on the bill are bands that were important to shaping the scene during the days of Taco Land: proto-punkers White Heat, rock ‘n’ rollers Sons of Hercules, and cow-punk boys The Hickoids. For a blast from San Antonio’s past, this is a show you need to be at.
