The Pastie Pops Celebrating Pride Month with Big Gay Burlesque Show

Boasting seven, scantily clad years of “bumping and grinding all over the city of San Antonio,” a win for Best Burlesque Troupe in our 2017 Best of San Antonio readers’ poll and a recent step up to the big-time stage at the Aztec, the eclectic, LGBT-centric, body-positive Pastie Pops have plenty to be proud of this Pride month.

Fiercely inclusive and refreshingly funny, the Pops currently comprise founding members Jasper St. James (The Big & Tall That Bares It All), Camille Toe (The One You Want to Pick) and Vixy Van Hellen (The Bare Bottom of Bexar County) along with later arrivals Mary Annette (The Doll with No Strings Attached), Elle Du Jour (The Contemporary Tease) and Lucy Lips (The Mermaid Queen of Texas).
A Pride month favorite, the troupe’s annual Big Gay Burlesque Show turns the glitter, feathers, fringe and sequins up to 11 for an evening of neo-boylesque, classic tease and comedy showcasing an array of special guests, including Houston-based JD Hickcock, Austinites Queertini Time (pictured), Amarillo’s Nox Falls and the Alamo City’s own Mustang Ryder.

$25-$50, Thu Jun 28, 8pm, The Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 812-4355,
