The Posies Bringing 30th Anniversary Tour to San Antonio

  • Lojinx
The Posies’ mix of British Invasion-style melody with crunchy guitars made them one of the best-regarded power pop bands of the ‘90s. And, apparently, they still have enough of their fan capital to pull together a 30th anniversary tour that whisks them across both North America and Europe.

Maybe the continued enthusiasm for the Posies’ music stems from the fact that the band isn’t just phoning it in and riding on Alternative-Nation nostalgia. Between individual musical projects, guitarists/vocalists/songwriters Jonathan Auer and Ken Stringfellow continue to put out albums as the Posies — some of which have garnered considerable critical praise. Their recent output dabbles more in electronics than the big guitars of their earlier work, but expect the same quirky lyrics, subtle hooks and songcraft that put this band on the map.
