Local and state politics? New restaurants? Local music? Art openings? Quirky viral content? We're looking for folks who can cover a range of San Antonio-centered topics — with the opportunity to develop a specialty if desired.
As an intern at the Current, there's no coffee-getting, mindless filing or copy-making. Our interns spend their time doing meaningful work: researching, writing and pitching content ideas. That means we're expecting you to have some experience writing before you step into the office. Preference will be given to students with a journalism/writing background.
You will be expected to churn out relevant San Antonio news (and occasional sass) on a regular basis, as well as pitch and produce web content (ie: photo galleries, Facebook live videos, social media).
Submit a brief introduction, résumé and two published clips to Digital Content Editor Sarah Martinez at email@example.com, with the subject Editorial Intern. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis. Applicants who are enrolled in school and are able to receive academic credit are preferred. This is an unpaid internship. However, we offer flexible schedules and plenty of experience.
