THE SOUND & THE FURY

by

Local metal band Eden Burning will play the biggest warmup gig of their two-year career when they open for Australian hard-rockers Airbourne at White Rabbit on Sunday, March 9.

Eden Burning, a vehicle for music scene veteran Phil Salazar, will join Ever After and Stone Rider on the bill, with the Melbourne-based Airbourne coming to town to support their Roadrunner Records debut, Runnin’ Wild.

The disc, which has earned some KISS 99.5 FM airplay for the AC/DC soundalike “Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast,” giddily pretends that the last two decades never happened, and offers a classic-rock value system best expressed in the titles to “Stand Up for Rock & Roll” and “Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women.” ...

Suzy Bravo, brown-eyed soul belter and local punk-scene mainstay, is moving to Austin and she threw herself a going-away party at The Mix on March 1, with a bill that included Suzy Bravo’s Hammered Reunion, SA’s all-female ’80s metal band Heather Leather (with help from Bravo), and DJ Plata, aka Eddie Hernandez, guitarist for Sexto Sol and bassist for Suzy Bravo & the Soul Revue.
