Saustex Media founder (and Hickoids frontman) Jeff Smith and Sam’s Burger Joint promoter Jerry Clayworth are teaming up for Ram Jam III, their third-annual raucous celebration of the memory of Taco Land owner Ram Ayala.

Smith and Clayworth were good friends of Ayala’s and Smith not only performed frequently at Taco Land with various bands, but also booked many shows there. For Ram Jam III, they’ve put together a two-day lineup at Sam’s (330 E. Grayson St.) that would undeniably meet with Ayala’s approval.

On Friday, April 11, the mayhem gets rolling at 9 p.m. with The Sanguinistas, followed by sets from The Bug Nasties (a Seattle retro garage-soul outfit led by Smith’s old pal James Burdyshaw), Los #3 Dinners, the Hickoids, and Sons of Hercules. KSYM weekend radio host Brian Parrish will spin records between bands.

On Saturday, S.A. Creeper opens at 8:30 p.m., followed by Los Mescaleros, The Infidels, and Big Drag, with the Velcro Underground handling DJ chores.

Both shows are all-ages and admission each night is $7.
