THE SOUND & THE FURY

by

Hardcore heroes Lie and Wait have decided to split up while they’re still in full possession of their raging bile, and the SA band will play their final show on Friday, May 1, at the Ten Eleven, formerly known as the Warhol.

Over the last four years, L&W cranked out two EPs, two split singles, and played countless maximum-intensity shows. Drummer Josh Huskin says the band felt that they’d accomplished everything they set out to do.

“Touring the U.S. can take a toll on you,” he says. “I haven’t had a savings account since we started this band. Every time you get some savings, you go on tour, and it’s all gone.  I don’t regret any of it. I got to see places I probably wouldn’t have gotten to see, and, to make it better, I was there with my best friends.”

None of the members of L&W plan to give up music. Huskin plays guitar for Altus, lead screamer Tyler Lutz and guitarist Zach Brin work with FEED, and bassist John Valdarama is developing a new project called Order of Living.

L&W will be joined at the Ten Eleven by Bitter End, On My Side, The Golden Age, Mammoth Grinder, and Power Trip. Showtime is 7 p.m.
