The Sound & The Fury

Let’s get to the point, San Antonio: A lot of you straight-up hate me. The comments portion of our website is filled every week with new accusations that I suck at my job, am single-handedly destroying the local music scene, and would make a better-than-average receptacle for a certain Massengill-produced feminine-hygiene product. So it is with a heavy heart that I now resign my position as ...

Oh, shit! I totally got you. You’re gonna have to drag me out of here, folks. But, for real, this year’s democratically decided Rammy Music Awards are your chance to put my smug (though surprisingly taut) ass in its place. From today (Wednesday, October 7) through Tuesday, November 3, point your browser to sacurrent.com where you can vote for the artists you think really matter in this city. You play the critic for once. I’m listening. What better way to vindicate some poor defenseless band I’ve ripped on than to force me to give them a big, fat Rammy award and a glowing write up in our November 18 Music Issue? What better way to get some overlooked band I’ve heartlessly ignored onto my myopic, malfunctioning radar than to elect them best act in their genre? Don’t answer that. I’m really not interested in anything you bastards have to say unless you put it into ballot form. Happy voting!
