After closing up shop in late April, the space that once held Nectar Wine Bar & Ale House is celebrating a new tenant.

With a month-long soft opening phase under its belt, The Trophy Room is hosting a grand opening tonight. Andrew Gagne, who previously owned a barbershop and a pest control company, decided to try his hand at the bar game with the space he calls modern industrial.

Updates to the flooring, light fixtures and a paintjob later, The Trophy Room now features DJs Wednesday through Saturday, live painting on Thursdays and valet on Friday and Saturday. A happy hour is offered daily from 4 to 8 p.m. with $2 domestics and $3 wells, making it one of the more wallet-friendly joints in downtown proper. Though no cocktail menu is set, the bar can whip up a Manhattan if needed. Beer fans should note brews are available on draft (Dos XX, Southerleigh, Freetail, Austin East Ciders) and in bottle.

A 15 percent discount is offered to all service industry members along with $3 you-call-its on Monday nights after 8 p.m.

The Trophy Room is open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

214 Broadway Suite 103, (210) 257-5152.
