'Tis the season to buy things ... like slapbands

Since it’s the season for demanding presents and everyone else is indiscriminately posting their wish lists in the form of “gift guides,” I figured it was time to follow suit.I sifted through all the “must-haves” and updates, searching for interesting things people would actually want to get. Why? Because I love you guys and don’t want you giving presents that cause your friends to cringe, fake a smile, and painfully squeeze out, “How nice, where did you find it?” through gritted teeth.

So, without further ado, straight from the pages of the online catalogs I lust over, here’s @beccacolada’s 2010 pre-approved-by-my-own-consumer-greed Christ-kkah-kwanzi-mas gift guide (aka: wish list):

Blackburn Flea 2.0 Solar Light $39.99

Because, sometimes, taking your bike to work just isn’t eco-friendly enough.

The Complete New Yorker $179

A classic-made-digital I can actually get behind. February 1925 to April 2008 on a 120G drive.

She & Hemergency Kits $12.00 - 25.00

A gift for either the chronically prepared or unprepared.  Stay sharp, or ensure others’ success!

Griffin's iPod Nano slapband $25

Just like the bands you used to fight your friends for, but cooler.

Oregon Scientific EB612 Personal UV Monitor with Exposure Timer $39.99

For those of you who turn red in a matter of minutes.  Measure your exposure and cringe.

Worst case scenario: you can always create a personalized gift card and just let them pick their own toys.
