COVER 3 // Mother’s Day brunch at COVER 3 includes a complimentary blooms and bubbles bar offering four mimosa options with fresh fruit juices. The Esquire Tavern // Chef Brooke Smith has created several new dishes for Mom’s big day, such as a refreshing seasonal house salad with heirloom tomatoes and a New Orleans-style muffuletta sandwich with ham, salami and provolone served on sesame focaccia bread. The new house cocktail menu features sips like La Tierra de Viejitas, made with Oaxacan rum, sun-drenched and oxidized wines and lemon. 11:30 a.m.-midnight, 155 E. Krause’s Café & Biergarten // This New Braunfels stalwart is offering a buffet-style Sunday brunch with omelets, pancakes, bacon and desserts. Find or create your drink of choice at the bloody mary and mimosa bars. There’s also a play area for little ones to run around if the adults need a moment to enjoy the view. Meadow // Meadow’s expansive buffet includes fresh buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as an egg station and carving station. Choose from an assortment of pastries or a libation from the bloody mary and mimosa bar. Feeling picture perfect? The restaurant has even arranged a $25 add-on portrait perk that includes a photo, frame and goody bag. The buffet runs $40 for adults and reservations are required. 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 555 W. Zinc // This downtown dining spot’s three-course meal offers mom a choice between roasted cauliflower bisque or heirloom tomato salad for starters plus a petite filet-and-butter-poached lobster main course. La Panadería // La Panadería’s two locations are offering champagne, mimosas and brunch items plus new pan dulce specials such as the tequila tres leches croissant — a take on its popular tequila almond croissant, only with fresh mascarpone whipped cream and strawberries. Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar // Part of the Gristmill’s appeal is that customers come for the view and stay for their favorite dishes. On Mom’s Day, those include a beef tenderloin salad with creamy vinaigrette, pepper filet with herb-lime butter and, of course, chicken fried steak. Josephine Street // Mom knows what she likes, and sometimes all she wants is something classic and simple like J-Street’s house angel hair pasta in plum tomato sauce served with a large Italian pork-and-beef meatball.
