Our planet’s skies are being invaded by extraterrestrials. Or, at least that’s what a group of experts who will be visiting San Antonio in March believe. I just learned that a UFO mini-symposium would be held in the Alamo City during the first weekend of March 2012, according to Steve Hudgeons, the state director for the Mutual UFO Network (or MUFON). Hudgeons who, I spoke with recently, said the event will feature Travis Walton, the famous abductee whose story was later made into the Hollywood movie Fire in the Sky.
Walton and six other forest workers claimed that they observed an unearthly silvery disc hovering over Arizona’s Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest on November 5, 1975. When Travis exited the truck in order to get a closer look at it he was, apparently zapped by a blue beam that emanated from the craft, rendering him unconscious and causing the other men to flee in terror. But the story doesn’t end there, since Walton seemingly vanished for five days until he turned up dazed, skinny and thirty-three miles away. Remarkably that he was only dressed in jeans and a light jacket when he disappeared, so he most certainly should have died of hypothermia. After recovering from his ordeal, Travis recounted a remarkable tale wherein he found himself inside an alien craft and interacting with a variety of non-human beings, before being deposited back on the ground in a weakened state.
Other confirmed speakers at the upcoming symposium include investigator Eddie Hill who leads a local research group called After Dark Paranormal and UFO researchers Angelia Joiner, Robert Powell, Teresa Tuner and Noe Torres. The event will be held at The Unicorn Center – 4630 Hamilton Wolfe - on Saturday, March 3rd and will begin at 9 am. Advanced tickets are $30.00 for preferred seating or general seating for $25.00. After February 25th, tickets will be at the door only and will cost $5 more.
