When: Thu., Dec. 1, 10 p.m. 2016
When it comes to hip-hop, we tend to, even more than with other types of music perhaps, equate fame (or at least internet traction) with quality. While local and regional indie rock scenes often enjoy the support of mini-legions of fans, folks often cast, for just and unjust reason, a dubious side-eye upon unsigned and undiscovered hip-hop talent from their own neck of the woods. Thursday’s Underground Sound show, however, should prove a great chance for San Antonians to remedy this type of thinking. Boasting a regional lineup of six promising, underground hip-hop artists, the show functions as a crash course in what’s good on the Lone Star/Southern hip-hop scene. The lineup for this installment of the Underground Sound series includes Suave Dosto (Dallas), Proz Taylor (Mississippi), Mafioso and YNG (Houston), Jevonchi (San Antonio), and B. Sharpe (Brooklyn).
