The recommendations will be sent to the University of Texas' regents for review in 2016. They'll make the final determinations.
The report was released Wednesday. It notes that UTSA will not provide gun storage and that buildings that contain significant exclusion zones should become entire exclusion zones.
The recommendations on where campus carry would be prohibited, includes areas that provide services to minor children, including the Texas Institute of Cultures, to health and counseling centers. Labs with combustable materials would be exclusion zones under the proposal as would anywhere public government entities meet.
The full 9-page report on the recommendations is below, so peruse it to see all the exclusionary zones UTSA is recommending.
Campus carry takes effect on August 1, 2016, the 50th anniversary of when Charles Joseph Whitman climbed the UT Tower in Austin and killed 14 people, while wounding dozens.
