What’s always made Volcán special is how they manage to incorporate traditional Latin music all the while expanding and challenging its limits (whatever limits you decide to impose on Latin music, that is). They boast a full rhythm section with enough drums, congas and bass to make the band incredibly versatile. The powerful vocals, blaring horns and driving guitar lines make them simultaneously rock, experimental and pure San Anto. Mostly, they’re unpredictable, which usually makes for an unforgettable performance. Joining is SA favorite Femina-X, and El Tallercito de Son SATX.
