The folks behind Where Y'at food truck (@WhereYatSA, (210) 420-0090) are getting into the brick-and-mortar game in a pretty familiar spot. And the St. Mary's Strip is about to get tastier.

Pieter Sypesteyn and wife Susan will open The Cookhouse at 720 E Mistletoe in the location previously occupied by Carmens de la Calle for 13 years. Sypesteyn says the new place will focus on New Orleans eats and feature an oyster bar. They hope to open by June.

The Cajun/Creole truck known for its Peacemaker po'boy, fluffy beignets and spicy gumbo opened in late 2011 at anchor location Alamo Street Eat Bar. Sypesteyn, a Louisiana native, had previously worked at Il Sogno under Andrew Weissman for four years.
