Through creative expression, an artist acts, creates, and responds, to the world. This series consists of ten 4 feet by 4 feet abstract acrylic paintings arranged as vertical diptychs and four smaller works, on view at 3rd Space Art Gallery opening on second Saturday, August 8th. The paintings are the result of an experimental ethnographic analysis of public art. The artist posits that art is a method that may be employed for scholarly research applicable to any query. Approached from a feminist perspective, the paintings offer an alternative deconstructed version of the image of the Virgen de Guadalupe.
