A San Antonio labor of love, Art at our Doorstep: San Antonio Writers + Artists, is a new book that celebrates its title’s subjects with works from luminaries such as the late Linda Pace, known for her mixed-media pieces (“Green Peace,” a collection of Astroturf and all things verde including high-heeled shoes and plush toys, can be found in the opening of the book) and Blue Star Contemporary Art Center Executive Director Bill FitzGibbons, creator of the LED and aluminum light installations that brighten up the city’s highway underpasses with neon hues of purple, red, yellow, green, and blue. Gemini Ink founder Nan Cuba and Artpace studio director Riley Robinson edited the 200-plus page tome of literary and artistic works. Free, 7-9pm, April 30, Chapman Center @ Trinity University, 106 Oakmont Court, (210) 999-8884.
