Central Library hosts an exhibit by Glen “Frank” Franklin that examines the struggle of African-Americans during and after slavery through a series of paintings. Coinciding with Juneteenth – the day Union troops stormed Galveston in 1865 to enforce the emancipation of slavery – the exhibit portrays the struggles of African-Americans in a way that carries over to contemporary society.
