California rip-hop heavyweights Kottonmouth Kings roll through San Antonio once again with Hed PE. No stranger to selling out a venue, the cannabis connoisseurs are still one of the biggest success stories in independent music. Despite the struggles found in today’s music industry the Kings have thrived, maintaining their successful independent record label, Suburban Noize Records. Their music fuses hip-hop, punk, rock, and pot-scented psychedelic rhythms — though they’re firmly entrenched within the realm of hip-hop, Kottonmouth Kings’ DIY punk ethic is evident, and they reign in the crunk-punk-funk arena. In a continued effort to raise awareness about the planet’s environmental issues, the Kings will be donating a percentage of profits from the sale of their latest, The Green Album, to various environmental causes, including SurfRider Foundation, which protects the world’s waves and beaches. $26 advance, 6:30pm, Scout Bar, 19314 Hwy 281 N, (210) 494-7700.
