The queens are back, and they’re better than ever in Glamarama 2, Jump-Start’s annual event commemorating World AIDS Day. This year’s theme is “The Legends Drag On,” and John McBurney has once again put together an evening of over-the-top hair, stilettos, and campy antics honoring classic drag. McBurney is a lead performer and the head make-up artist; his lengthy resume includes working with Selena, Jennifer Lopez, George Strait, George Lopez, and on various Broadway plays featured at the Majestic Theatre. McBurney’s avant-garde designs also earned him the 2007 Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Costume Design for the Artist Foundation of San Antonio. The night is hosted by Miss Eva Green, known for her amazing costume changes, and features drag artists Jessica St. John, Blanca West and Co., Miss Shyla, Andrea La Moure, Kourtney Devereaux, Cassandra Hall, Krystal Kelley, Dana Stevens, Tencha, and special guests Annele Spector and Kitty Williams. $25 table seating, $15 general, 7pm & 10pm Saturday, November 29, Jump-Start, 108 Blue Star, (210) 227-5867.
