San Antonio electro-fusion rock trio Pop Pistol has announced the release of their first full-length album, Angelus, and will play an extended set at Jack’s Patio Bar this Saturday. The group has been gaining momentum the last few months with slots on Local 782 benefits at Tonic and the Mix, a spot on Monkeyfest, and a milestone performance opening for international recording artists Dredg this past October. Some songs off the new album have previously been released for public consumption — “All Heart No Head” has begun rotation on 99.5 KISS’s Texas Traxx, and the dance track “Angela Awake” is featured on the Local 782 compilation You Are Here, We Are Here. In 2009 the band plans to record new material, tour the U.S. and beyond, and produce a video project with 21inSA.com comprising studio and live performance footage. $5/10, 9pm, Jack’s Patio Bar, 2950 Thousand Oaks, (210) 494-2309.
