Release Date: 2009-01-21

Irish/Chicano returns to the Jump-Start stage as a staged reading with new material and an original score by Los Crawdaddies. Set during the Mexican/American War, the play is the true tale of the San Patricio Battalion, a predominantly Irish group who had immigrated to America, but was met with religious persecution and discrimination when they joined the army. Seen through the friendship of two soldiers, the performance explores a piece of little-known history. $16 general, $12 students, 8pm Friday-Sunday, Jump-Start, 108 Blue Star, (210) 227-5867.
