Cheap tequila is being swilled in bars and discos around the globe in celebration — underground rap duo the Chicharones have climbed back on top! Named after the greasy, but immensely tasty, Latin American porkskin snack, Canadian MC’s Josh Martinez and Sleep shook off the cold weather reputation of their home country to create an original hip-hop sound that embodies Latin spirit and style and feels like it belongs below the equator. Martinez is the founder of Camobear Records, while his snout-nosed companion is a founding member of the Northwest’s rap crew Oldominion. From Sleep’s magic tricks and quick change routines to Martinez’s beer-balancing and high-kicking Elvis dance moves, the live show is an all-out party with flowing beer taps, supa-fresh ’80s dance moves, and spicy Spanish guitar solos. And we couldn’t resist the hilarious pigpen-karate press photo — this bromance is on fire! $5, 10pm, Limelight, 2718 N. St. Mary’s, (210) 735-7775.
