Just as femme fatale/writer Barbara Renaud Gonzalez debuts her novel Golondrina, why did you leave me?, Jay Brandon releases his Raymond Chandler-esque mystery novel set in San Antonio and called Milagro Lane. Brandon seeks to capture the mystery and forgotten history of the area, and in that sense, perhaps the two books aren’t that much different at all — generally speaking, of course.
