In a somewhat strange turn of events, stage director and actor Alan Muraoka (owner of Mr. Hooper’s store on Sesame Street), is directing Urinetown at Trinity University, where he is in residence as a Stieren Guest Artist. A musical comedy and political satire, Urinetown paints a yellow picture of a place so ravaged by drought that private toilets have been outlawed. When residents are caught relieving themselves anywhere other than the megacorporation-controlled pay toilets, they are sent to live (and sing) in the penal colony of the show’s title. $8, 8pm, Stieren Theater (in the Ruth Taylor Theater Building), Trinity University, 1 Trinity Place, (210) 999-8515, trinity.edu
