SaaTea Lounge takes its name from a Hindi word meaning “friendship” and aims to create a cozy environment for like-minded folks to gather and learn from one another. During their official grand opening, guests can learn about yoga (1pm), mycology (the study of fungi) and how it can “save the world” (2 and 4pm), sustainable building (5pm), and raw-food healing (6pm), while sipping exotic teas. SaaTea’s goal is to “nurture the spirit, heal the body, and inspire the mind.” While this may sound a tad crunchy, the lounge is making an honest effort to enlighten people in a chilled-out atmosphere, which should be a perfect spot to come up with a few New Year’s resolutions. Free, 1-9pm, SaaTea Lounge, 741 W. Ashby (inside Pho Sure Vietnamese Restaurant), (210) 370-7062, saatea.com.
