“Oh, do not ask, ‘What is it?’ Let us go and make our visit,” said T.S. Eliot in “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” Had he been tweeting instead of writing poetry like a total J. Alfred Poindexter, he might’ve said: “WTF ? fail.” Two of San Antonio’s finest examples of this maxim that I’m going to go ahead and attribute to a famous dead poet join forces Friday for what’s bound to be a night of stuffing two tons of crazy into a 10-pound sack. Pygmaeus fans didn’t take too kindly to our write-up of their show last year, but we thoroughly enjoyed the band’s alien form of jazz-fusion or whatever the hell it is. We just didn’t know quite what to make of it. Their songs about sandwiches laced with psycho-active drugs (“Polkadelic Deli”), skanking fish salesmen (“Fresh Tilapia”), and Plutonian radio stations (“KSY Pluto”) change time signatures and genres the way a coked-out, sexually confused chimp clicks through porn sites. They nonplussed the shit out of us, quite frankly, and we’re huge fans of Sun Ra and Gong. Junglenoize, on the other hand, sound equally inspired by Ride the Lightning-era Metallica and Remain in Light-era Talking Heads, but we would not be surprised to learn we were way, way off. Why don’t you go see for yourself? And try writing an intelligible description of the insanity afterwards, if you think you’re so damn smart. 8pm Fri, Apr 16, The Ten Eleven, 1011 Ave. B, teneleven.com . — Jeremy Martin
