On an inspirational note, winners of last year’s Las Casas Scholarship Performance Competition are now completing their first year of college. On Sunday, another $60,000 will be divided among 24 college-bound students (selected from 114 applicants) who’ll act, sing, and dance before a panel of seasoned judges. After what promises to be a stellar evening of acting monologues and duets, vocal solos and duets, and dance solos, the judges’ scores will be tabulated, and each Hollywood/Broadway-bound teen will be awarded a Las Casas Scholarship for Excellence in the Performing Arts. $8, 6pm, Charline McCombs Empire Theatre, 226 S. St. Mary’s, lascasasfoundation.org, ticketmaster.com.
