Commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, Heroes of Woodstock boasts a handful of key players from the legendary “Aquarian Exposition” of 1969. Whether performances by Jefferson Starship (who’ll revisit the music of Jefferson Airplane — unfortunately without Grace Slick), Janis Joplin’s band Big Brother & The Holding Company, Canned Heat (resurrected by founding drummer Fito de la Parra), Country Joe MacDonald (who’ll host the concert as well as perform a psychedelic blend of folk-rock), and Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten will induce flashbacks of three days of peace and music in Sullivan County is still up in the air. But the grounds of WhiteWater Amphitheater seem like a pretty ideal place to recreate a muddy, drug-fueled love-in, so if you see me hitchhiking along I-35, please slow down long enough for me to jump in the bed of your rusty pickup truck. General admission: $20.32; preferred: $43.32; VIP tables: $360.28; skyboxes: $886.84; gates at 7pm, concert at 8pm, WhiteWater Amphitheater, 11860 FM 306, New Braunfels, whitewaterrocks.com.
