Now in its seventh year, TheatreASAP tests the timeliness of some of SA’s more daring playwrights, actors, and directors. On Friday, six local playwrights will randomly draw props, “San Antonio-related lines of dialogue,” and cast lists — all of which must be stirred into a one-act masterpiece in the following 12 hours. The completed scripts are then delivered to teams of actors and directors who’ll have 12 hours to memorize, rehearse, and stage their plays. On Saturday, a brand-new stage (Northwest Vista College’s Palmetto Center for the Arts) plays host to six never-before-seen one-act plays. According to San Antonio Theatre Coalition’s W. Chris Champlin, “The one thing you can count on in this event is the unexpected.” $5, 8-10pm, Northwest Vista College’s Palmetto Center for the Arts, 3535 North Ellison Dr., (210) 779-6782, satheatre.com.
