If we can call Roy Orbison “the voice,” can we bestow the title of “la voz” on Vicente Fernández? The Jalisco-born king of the ranchera song, who dresses the part as well as sings it, has serenaded fans for more than 35 years. In Mexico, the film and music celebrity is on par with Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra for his rich voice and flashy showmanship. He often sells out arena-sized venues stateside (hint hint). A prolific performer and musician, Sony Latin released El Hombre Que Más Te Amó this year, Fernández’s 64th album. Maybe we can just call Fernández “the hardest working man in show business,” instead? $25-$175, 8pm Fri, Oct 22, AT&T Center, One ATT Center, (800) 745-3000, attcenter.com
