Esperanza Peace and Justice Center’s Mercado de Paz/Peace Market offers a socially conscious holiday alternative to buying plastic with plastic in big box stores. This weekend, more than 90 local artists will be joined by artisans from the Mexican states of Puebla, Guerrero, and Oaxaca who craft unique items (wood carvings, rugs, and ceramics among them) with themes of peace, ecology, and cultural diversity in mind. When you tire of browsing, kick back with a tasty treat and enjoy live music by Eva Ybarra y Su Conjunto. Free, 10am-6pm Fri, Nov 26 & Sat, Nov 27, Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, 922 San Pedro, (210) 228-0201, esperanzacenter.org.
