Critic's Pick Release Date: 2011-02-02

“The greatest little show on Earth,” returns to grace SA with another night of full-blown “Midget Mania.” As politically incorrect as this sounds, the Micro Wrestling Federation isn’t opposed to the “m” word — as long as it isn’t used derogatorily. According to its website, MWF’s mission is to prove its members are serious athletes with the will and determination to succeed. And as the “only professional midget wrestling show touring the United States,” (since 2000), it seems that mission’s accomplished. On Tuesday, Pixie, Short Dawg, Ricky Benjamin, Bronx Thug, J-Mazing, Lil’ Nasty Boy, and Stephen Diesel will treat “micro maniacs” (as MWF refers to its fans) to an evening of “non-stop, high-flying action” in a 12’ x 12’ ring. And if these pint-sized powerhouses, who are known for mixing sports entertainment with “a touch of comedic value,” make you laugh — no worries. They’ll be laughing with you — all the way to the bank. $10 in advance (at nightrockerlive.ticketleap.com); $15 at the door; 8pm, Nightrocker Live, 605 San Pedro, nightrockerlive.net, microwrestling.com.
