The San Antonio Current presents Cocktails for a Cause

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2011-02-02

Those who joined us last year when we toasted the Animal Defense League with a benevolent evening of boozing and dancing already know that Cocktails for a Cause is not your typical fundraiser — it’s a fun, casual, post-work party with a purpose. This year, we aim our charitable martini glass at the San Antonio AIDS Foundation, which is Currently in the midst of preparing for a “futuristic glam”-inspired WEBB Party ($75 in advance, 7:30pm-midnight, Fri, Apr 8 at Sunset Station). But even if you don’t pick up tickets to SAAF’s glitzy “Supernova” fête, your $10 donation gets you in the door for free bistro-style appetizers and a chance to win fancy prizes (provided by Sono Bello Body Contour Center, Santikos Theatres, Mind Body Soul Pilates, and the San Antonio Rampage), and, more importantly, helps the foundation continue to provide compassionate care for people living with AIDS and prevent the spread of HIV through education and testing. $10 suggested donation (100 percent of which goes directly to SAAF), 5:30-8pm, Tost Bistro Bar, 14425 Blanco, (210) 408-2670,
