This weekend, more than 100 artists from across the country will gather on the historic grounds of the Southwest School of Art for one of the most anticipated events on the Fiesta calendar. Thirty-nine years strong this year, Fiesta Arts Fair offers a truly unique shopping experience (browse for works in every imaginable medium — painting, sculpture, photography, fiber, and glass to name a few) complemented by enlightening demonstrations (stone carving, papermaking, weaving, metalworking, and more), live music on two stages (Buttercup, Los #3 Dinners, and Los Fabulocos are three of the 11 acts on the two-day bill), a Children’s Art Garden (for $2.50 per activity, tiny artists can get creative with clay, stained glass, beading, or printmaking), and plenty of food and drinks to keep you in the Fiesta spirit. Word to the wise: Tickets purchased in advance (from fiestaartsfair.com and the Southwest School of Art’s Gallery Shop) cost $1 less and land you in the express line for entry. Weekend pass: $16; day pass: $10; kids (ages 5-12): $5; free for kids under 5; 10am-6pm Sat, Apr 9; 11am-5pm Sun, Apr 10; Southwest School of Art, 300 Augusta, swschool.org, fiestaartsfair.com, fiesta-sa.org.
