“Augie’s my man,” Bob Dylan — a man not known for giving away praise — said of former Sir Douglas Quintet and current Texas Tornado Augie Meyers. “He’s the shining example of a musician, Vox player or otherwise, who can break the code … He can bring a song, certainly any one of mine, into the real world. On Saturday, the man Dylan called a “master of syncopation and timing” will be honored by the Main Plaza Conservancy, as it has done for Flaco Jiménez, Esteban Jordan, and Jesse Borrego Jr. in past years. Afterward, Meyers’ Vox organ, accordion, voice, and band will do the rest, while special guests The Infidels and Patricia Vonne will close out what promises to be one of the best Main Plaza shows ever. Free, 6:30-10pm, Main Plaza, 115 N Main, (210) 225-9800, mainplaza.org.
