Since early March, NiffNot Productions (aka Ekstasis Films) has been accepting short films (15 minutes or less) for an upcoming interactive screening emceed by local comedian Jade Esteban Estrada. NiffNot promised to include your good, bad, and even ugly shorts, and if yours was among the first 20 (non-pornographic) entries received, at least three minutes of it will be screened at Monday’s inaugural event. As for the remaining portion’s chance of being shown, that’s entirely up to the audience. If the crowd’s not feeling it, it’s free to call for the dreaded gong, and it’s on to the next short. The audience-determined grand prize winner walks away with $100. $9, 7:30pm, Alamo Drafthouse at Stone Oak, 22806 US Hwy 281 N, (210) 677-8500, drafthouse.com/stoneoak, filmbaking.blogspot.com.
