Originating as Fiesta West in 1983, the San Antonio Zulu Association’s signature shindig imports the flavors of the Big Easy to the Alamo City for a family-focused weekend at Sunken Garden. In addition to serving up French Quarter favorites (including jambalaya, etouffee, gumbo, alligator, crawfish, and beignets) and plenty of suds to wash them down, the 28th-annual celebration features live music from local blues-rocker Ruben V, NOLA’s all-female The Original Pinnettes Brass Band, Austin-based Cajun quintet Gumbo Ce Soir, Louisiana family band Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters, Rat Pack-inspired trio The Sax Pack (Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Cole, and Marcus Anderson), and steel drum pioneer Kim Loy Wong’s Trinidad Pan Masters. $10-$12, 5-11pm Fri, noon-11pm Sat, noon-10pm Sun, Sunken Garden Theater, 3875 N St. Mary’s, (210) 637-8328, saza.org.
