Bonehead Quote Of The Week: Donna Campbell on the NDO

Welcome to a new blog from the Current. Each week we'll bring you our favorite verbal garbage, confusing sentiments, hypocrisies and/or just plain nonsense from politicians, elected officials, newsmakers and notable loudmouths. Living in Texas, there should be ample selection.

So, who said it best worst this week? While San Antonio cheered on the passage of an LGBT non-discrimination ordinance yesterday–a historic win for gay rights...civil rights...basic human rights (you get the picture)– Senate Tea Party darling Donna Campbell didn't think think there was much to celebrate. From her Facebook wall today:

"Yesterday's vote by the San Antonio City Council was an assault on the liberty of individuals  to think freely and form their own opinion regarding certain lifestyle choices,"- Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels)

You hear that? A measure to prevent discrimination amounts to mind-control. Better get your tin foil ready.
